Here is a list of the shortest class A motorhomes available today.

The motorhomes listed here are all currently in production.

Winnebago Vista 27P

Length: 25ft 5in

Sleeps: 5

Floorplan

Powerful Motor

2 x AC Units

Theater Seating/Recliners

The 2023 Winnebago Vista 27P is the smallest Class A motorhome that Winnebago produces, and is aimed at people who want compact travel but at the same time don’t want to sacrifice the basic amenities.

Walkaround Video

Underneath the hood is a mighty 7.3 liter V8 Godzilla engine making 350 horsepower and 468 lb ft of torque, you wont find yourself lacking no matter what the roads are like. The Vista features two slide outs, complete with power awning and LED lights, outdoor speakers, storage compartments – some being pass through for expanded space, and a leash attachment, a thoughtful note for the pets. Trailerable with a 5,000-pound hitch and dual mounted air conditioners on the roof round off the exterior.

Internally, the Vista has theater seating with cup holders and recliners, which is really cool for a motorhome this size. Directly opposite them is a booth dinette with storage plus a conveniently located TV for easy viewing. The kitchen is modest, with a double sink and three-burner stove. Considering the small size of the motorhome, the bedroom accommodates a king sized bed, although this has to be folded out for the slide out. There’s also a good amount of wardrobe space.

Given that Winnebago hasn’t made any major changes to the interior and exterior design of the Vista for several years now, and I think a porcelain toilet is more apt for a motorhome of this price point. All in all though, Vista 27P offers an excellent functional layout for its size, making it very comfortable for compact travel.

Thor Axis 24.1

Length: 25ft 8in

Sleeps: 5

Floorplan

Flexible Sleeping Setup

Huge Windshield

Lots Of Storage

The Thor Axis 24.1 is a compact motorhome that has a ton of features into a small, easy to drive package. The Thor Axis 24.1 is built on a Ford E-450 chassis, which makes it feel like you’re driving a large SUV not a traditional bulky RV.

Walkaround Video

One of the first things that stands out is the massive front windshield, which gives you an all around view when you’re driving. The motorized shade is really convenient when the sun starts to cause driving issues. One of my favorite features is the sleeping arrangement in the rear, it’s a flexible setup and can be made up as twin beds or turned into a king size bed.

For the size of this motorhome, there is no shortage of storage compartments, both inside and outside. It’s pretty obvious the interior is designed to be efficient, with a kitchen that has a two burner cooktop, a convection microwave, and a nice little refrigerator. The bathroom, although a bit smaller, does have a decent amount of headroom and a foot flush toilet.

For its size, the Thor Axis manages to combine comfort and practicality, making it great for travelers who want a motorhome that’s easy to drive and well kitted out. It’s got lots of well designed features, in a nice compact design that’s perfect for road trips.

Thor Vegas 24.1

Sleeps: 5

Floorplan

Outdoor Grill Hookup

Side Mirror Cameras

Overhead Cab Bunk

The Thor Vegas 24.1 RV is exactly the same size as the the Thor Axis 24.1 – 25ft 8in. Handy exterior touches include side mirror cameras for easy parking, lockable overhead and underfloor storage compartments, and a big awning for shade. Also on the outside is an outdoor grill setup and multiple power outlets.

Walkaround Video

The cabin floor layout offers space and luxury. The driver area is cozy and functional with plush seat cushions, and touchscreen infotainment tech. The overhead cab bed can be brought down easily, and it comes with safety netting on the bunk to secure it – a pretty easy add on to your sleeping arrangements. With comfort in mind, the living area is furnished with a wall contour sofa that easily converts into a bed within a slide, this also allows for spaces for three passengers with seat belts. Another great feature is the kitchen, which has an extensive extension counter that houses a large sink and a two-burner stove. There are plenty of fitted cabinets that provide additional storage for all your kitchen stuff.

Twin beds in the bedroom easily make room for one large bed with plenty of super spacious wardrobe space, drawers, and useful overhead cabinets. With seating for up to five people, the Thor Vegas 24.1 is an adaptable class A for a nice getaway.

Coachmen Pursuit 27XPS

Length: 29ft 0in

Sleeps: 6

Floorplan

Large Windows

Simple Layout

CPAP Station

The Coachmen Pursuit Class A RV has a traditional setup and has no slides, this makes for a straightforward experience with not a lot of maintenance. No slides mean less to go wrong, perfect fit for those who want a simple setup. No slides also means more windows, which equals much better views.

Walkaround Video

There is a practical manual drop down bunk above the cab, which doesn’t take long to set up at all. The inside is simple and functional, it has a large dinette, a full size couch with seatbelts, and a basic cooking area. The kitchen doesn’t have a lot of space for meal prep, but it’s complete with a regular oven and microwave. You also have a very large 12 volt compressor fridge.

Despite the compact design, the bathroom is fine for short stays, with open pockets and plenty of storage space for personal items. At the back, the bedroom design includes a walk around queen bed with Coachmen’s “CPAP station,” a handy storage and power spot for a CPAP machine or similar.

This RV is designed for uncomplicated spur of the moment trips. The Coachmen Pursuit is a comfortable, affordable, practical choice for anyone wanting to hit the road without any fuss.

Fleetwood Flair 28A

Length: 29ft 3in

Sleeps: 7- 8

Floorplan

Class A Chassis

Wineguard Antenna

Doggy Window

The Fleetwood Flair 28A motorhome is compact, but loaded with all the essentials, ideal for traveling to state and national parks. Unlike previous models, the Flair has a true Class A Ford F-53 chassis, which helps keep you steady going down the highway.

Walkaround Video

The outside of the Flair has useful things like a large power awning and LED lights, frameless windows, and it even has a doggy window for your furry friend. You’ll find a lot of storage up front, and no slide on the driver’s side gives you a place to put totes or folding chairs. It does have a ladder where you can access a fully walkable roof. It also has a Winegard antenna and Wi-Fi ranger, so you’ll always have a good connection.

The Fleetwood uses all the space it can and a 32” TV in the theater seat area that looks great and gives you plenty of room to relax. There is a “holographic” backsplash that adds personality to the kitchen. There is a two burner cooktop two and double basin sink and some (not lots) of cupboard space. The bedroom is cozy, and as good as can be expected in a Class A motorhome. The king size bed has good overhead storage, and is high quality, as is the rest of the cabinetry from the Fleetwood cabinet makers. There is also a dinette and good entertainment options.

For those that want a smaller, easy to handle class A, the Fleetwood Flair 28A would be a good fit.

Holiday Rambler Admiral 28A

Length: 29ft 3in

Sleeps: 7

Floorplan

Queen Cab Bunk

Large Fridge

Electronic Leveling

The Holiday Rambler Admiral 28A is a 28 foot motorhome that puts a lot of comfort into a pretty compact space. A cool feature is the overhead bunk that lowers down with the push of a button. This queen size bed comes down right over the driver’s seat area, adding extra sleeping space that’s rare in a motorhome of this size, making it possible for up to eight to sleep comfortably.

Walkaround Video

In the main living space, there’s a large couch that also becomes a bed and a dinette that also extends sleeping space. With a full kitchen set up that has a double sink, a 30 inch microwave, and a large residential style fridge. The real wood cabinets and flush, recessed cooktop give the kitchen a really clean, residential feel.

Another highlight is the bedroom with its king size bed surrounded by plenty of storage, windows on each side, and a porcelain toilet behind a glass shower door instead of a curtain, which is a nice quality touch.

Outside there is a full length awning and frameless windows, which makes for a sleek look on the exterior. The Admiral 28A  sits on a Ford V10 chassis with side and backup cameras, electronic leveling, and a 4,000 watt generator, all adding up to a user friendly solution for longer excursions and spur of the moment trips alike.

Entegra Coach Vision 27A

Length: 29ft 11in

Sleeps: 8

Floorplan

Huge Windshield

Furion Fridge

Electronic Leveling

The 2024 Integra Coach Vision 27A is a small but really impressive motorhome, it’s just under 30 feet, making it a good size for state and national parks. It sits on an F-53 chassis with a torquey 7.3L V8 engine, which makes it a true Class A motorhome. It has a smooth ride with bigger tires and an easy drive system. One of its most notable features is its massive windshield, which Integra say is the biggest in the RV industry, this gives fantastic visibility up front.

Walkaround Video

The cockpit has all the modern tech like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the passenger seat has a built in workstation with plenty of USB ports.

Inside, the Vision 27A makes really good use of the space with a big living area. Perhaps the main highlight of the kitchen is the Furion fridge, which has huge amounts of storage space – not the norm for a motorhome this size. The bathroom isn’t big but I think it’s a trade off for having a king size bed in a motorhome under 30 feet.

Outside, the motorhome has things like frameless windows, slam latch doors, and a power awning with LED lights. There’s also an outdoor TV with a Furion sound system for those evenings outside.

Overall, the Integra Vision 27A is a well designed motorhome with lots of storage and modern features, a great choice for people who want to travel in style while still fitting into tight camping spots.

Jayco Alante 27A

Length: 29ft 11in

Sleeps: 6

Floorplan

Large Windshield

Bilstein Stabilizer

J Ride

There have been a few updates of the latest Jayco Alante 27A, with a couple of standout upgrades. One of the major updates is the added Bilstein steering stabilizer that will greatly enhance its handling and stability. This is in response to earlier customer feedback concerning steering issues. They’ve also added a “cat strap” to prevent the catalytic converter from theft, a great addition with the rising cases of catalytic converter theft.

Walkaround Video

With its partial paint design on the front cap and large 120 inch windshield, this model also comes with the “J Ride” package. This is to improve ride quality with stabilizer bars, computer balanced drive shaft, and advanced suspension.

Outside, there’s pass through storage , external TV with speakers and a large awning. Inside, they have also installed a 12 volt fridge that cools a lot faster and more efficiently than the model. There is a king bed, a large dinette, and a sofa that can be pulled out and put together, upping the sleep capacity to 6 – 8 people.

These new options make the 2024 Allante 27A  a modern, family oriented motorhome.

Thor ACE 29D

Length: 30ft 9in

Sleeps: 6

Floorplan

Affordable Class A

Kingsize Bed

Outdoor Kitchen

The Thor ACE 29D is one of the most affordable Class A motorhomes on the market, its got quite a bit of uniqueness with a pinch of Class C thrown in. Its total length is only 30 ft 9 in long, and it still has everything you would need. It comes with a Ford 7.3L V8 engine, known as “Godzilla” for its performance and power.

Walkaround Video

Outdoors, there’s a power awning with LED lights, an outdoor kitchen for outdoor cooking with a little refrigerator, a sink, and propane hookup, and tons of exterior storage and an 8,000 pound hitch for towing. The ladder gives access to the roof, which is walkable to the two AC units, and it also has a solar panel if more power is ever needed.

Inside, is a very functional and user friendly layout. The cockpit has swivel chairs, with tech built into the dashboard, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, a drop down cab bunk provides another sleeping area. The sofa and the dinette also convert into beds, allowing more space for accommodating more people. There is a hard counter in the kitchen, a three burner stove with a good deal of cabinets, but really no pantry. In the bedroom, is the king size bed, the bathroom is small but still highly usable.

Overall, if you’re looking for an inexpensive family motorhome that packs in some nice home comforts, the Thor Ace 29D definitely fits the bill.

Forest River FR3 30DS

Length: 31ft 11in

Sleeps: 6

Floorplan

Entry Level Class A

Washer Dryer Combo

Outside TV

The Forest River FR3 30DS is an entry level Class A motorhome, affordable and at just under 32 feet is pretty much perfect for national parks. I like that Forest River have gone for a bold color scheme, a nice change from the usual motorhome “biegeness”. This really does bring this motorhome bang up to date.

Walkaround Video

Outside you’ve got a TV, a few speakers, an auto leveler, and lots of storage compartments. As for the inside, the biggest selling feature of the FR3 is that it’s all about pure comfort with the well placed comfy theater chairs. In the front, the dinette actually looks comfortable and spacious, a nice place to eat meals. The king sized bed and split bath add to the touch of luxury in a smaller package.

A nice touch is also the washer dryer combo, which is unheard of in a class A of this size. The usual kitchen has a two way fridge and good working counter space even if a bit on the small side. The bathroom is small but its functional.

The FR3 30DS is generally well built and laid out, offering practical use with a nice amount of comfort.

A shorter class A motorhome is a great choice for anyone who wants to take a bit of luxury with them on the road, but still be nimble enough able to get into most of our national parks.
